Sculptor and architect. Born in Larnaca,
Cyprus in 1951.
Boğaç uses limestone and
date-palm to reflect humanity and love in his statues. He believes love is
precious and that enlightenment "passes through it" and his philosophy shows
in his beautiful three-dimensional works. The artist says his main motivation
is to "create something immortal, but which is nevertheless inanimate".Boğaç believes love between people is only possible through compromise between
individuals, society and the world at large. "I try to reflect these compromises
in my works" he says.
The three-dimensional approach, he says, excites human relations and adds a
different taste to humanitarian love and the environment, offering different
aspects from every angle.
Boğaç received three prizes at the North Cyprus State Exhibitions and six
of his works have been bought for display in the State Fine Arts Museum.
